We Need Your Help
You don't have to be a medical professional
Have you ever thought about joining a medical mission? How about joining our Constanza Team for a week in the Dominican Republic Reignite your passion and medical skills to serve the health needs of the families in Constanza. We gather data but our focus is on medical care (no EHR!). We need you. Please use the Contact Us links for more information.
You do not need to be a medical professional to help. Anyone that is energetic and has a willingness to serve the amazing people of Constanza is welcome on a Mission trip. Translators are a great asset. You may be assigned to help a medical team, help with the logistics of getting the clinics set up, lining patients up to see the medical teams, complete patient intake forms, help with or conduct eye examinations and distribute eyeglasses, handout toothbrushes and toothpaste, provide fluoride treatment for children, distribute toys or clothes, etc. There are dozens of ways to help, and all you need is the desire to help. Come join a trip!
The total cost of the trip is $1,200 and covers all airfare, lodging, transport and all meals. There are a limited number of need-based scholarships to help reduce the cost for Nurses and other medical professionals. Click here if interested in applying for a scholarship
May / November Trips
Saturday
We travel to Constanza every May and November. There are planning meetings beforehand, so participants can learn about their roles and meet each other. We leave on a Saturday, land in Santiago, and drive to Constanza that afternoon. We stay in a very safe and pleasant hotel named "Hotel Constanza".
Sunday
It's a long day, but spending Sunday in Constanza is a great experience. There is Catholic Mass (optional but recommended) where we first meet the people and show that we have arrived. We then tour the clinic and then we go on home visits, which are invariably pleasant and interesting. Sunday night we have dinner at the convent and then return to the hotel to prep for the Monday clinic.
Monday - Thursday
The work starts on Monday morning. We set up mobile clinics in local schools and see patients all day. Often, we treat up to 200 patients in a day. Then we head back to a local convent for a big dinner and return to the hotel. Clinics run Monday through Thursday.
Friday
On Friday morning, we provide a clinic for the "Hotel Constanza" workers and their families, and then we head for the airport in Santiago to fly home.
