Constanza Medical Mission

Wilson Alberto

Wilson Alberto was an early surgical patient of the Constanza Mission. Born with a cleft lip and palate, he was identified by the Mission medical team and had successful surgery to repair his birth condition.  Fast forward roughly 10 years and his family lost their home to a devastating fire in February 2021. Through the generous donations of Constanza Medical Mission suppporters, new clothing, furniture and appliances were purchased for a temporary apartment while their new home is being rebuilt. Photos show the fire can be seen being built in the background!

Michelle

We met Michelle through Dr. Saif Haider as a 12-year-old little girl who had spent several years in a darkened room within the Constanza home she shares with her family. She clearly suffered from developmental, social and speech difficulties. When interacting with others she would repeat back what was said to her but was unable to answer questions. Her parents indicated her behavior was challenging, and that she had never been assessed. We asked the parents if we could arrange for a visit with a specialist. They agreed and in the Fall of 2018 Sor Juana Colon and Polo Collado, part of our team in Tireo, brought Michelle and her family to the specialist. She was diagnosed and provided with medications to help her begin to live a more normal life and interact with her family and others. She now speaks with her family and loves to sing. We continue to provide Michelle with the medical care, the medicine she needs and any other support for her family. We thank God for bringing us to Michelle and for her continued progress.
